It's been quite a bit since I've updated my stationery page, and as I went to modernize it, I decided I kind of liked it as a time capsule of what I was writing with towards the end of high school and start of college. Here's a new page with my current thoughts!

I haven't been on a crazy pen aquisition kick lately, but I have a couple new pens since I last wrote. As of right now, I'm enjoying the Lamy CP-1 fountain pen with the medium nib. I tend to write pretty small, so anything larger than medium getes messy, but the fine/extra fine nibs don't give me enough color. I cycle through all kinds of inks in the CP-1, but for my other main pen (an entry level Sailor pen) I keep it to a black ink (more on inks later!)

The new pens are all in the dip pen area. My wonderful girlfriend gifted me the Kakimori brass nib, which I've had a ton of fun with. It's been especially great since I've expanded my inks considerably, way beyond a realm where I can fully enjoy them with fountain pens alone (I'd feel so bad about the inks that aren't in pens ;-;). The Kakimori brass nib is so fun to write with- I experienced a bit of a break-in period for the ability to write very thin lines (basically holding the pen vertically), despite cleaning it up with a couple toothbrush and soap baths. It works best with runny inks for sure, but there hasn't been anything that's really struggled! It's super fun to write with, and when I'm intentionally messing around, it's super expressive. I'm not practiced enough yet for that expression to come through in calligraphy-type writing or my normal handwriting yet though!

Pencils are still great too! I still love my Blackwing pencils, but I've added a box of Mitsubishi 9800 HBs to my drawer which I have been trending towards using out of wanting to save the much more expensive Blackwings for.. more significant tasks? I'm not really sure how I decide what I use them for, but theres some kind of system behind the eyes.

Finally inks!
I have expanded my iroshizuku ink collection, I have a lighter blue (asaji?), a brown and a magenta, in addition to the dark blue and red. Supplimenting these, I have a blue Dominant Industries ink and my latest ink, an amber colored Kakimori ink, which I've really been loving! It was limited edition and I got the last one off Jetpens as a total impulse buy. It's called the "Little box of memories" ink. I had to throw in a single additional Mitsubishi pencil to get to the $35 free shipping threshold.
I also have two shimmering inks- Wearingeul Romeo and an Alchemist ink which is dark blue with golden shimmer. They're both really fun, but I'm struggling to figure out how to write with them such that the shimmer is an even distribution instead of being super intense right where I touch pen to paper for the first time and fading to nothing as I write.
